While Madison Square Garden was packed for the 2015 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show (see Upset in the Garden), millions more watched it on their TV sets at home. Most of these viewers had two legs. But others, like Fiji cheering on Matisse, had four.
When she sees a dog or a cat, she leaves her comfortable place on the couch and hurries over to the TV set to give them the sniff test. When she doesn’t get a reaction — and usually she doesn’t — she’ll stand up on her hind legs and paw at the screen.
Penelope doesn’t necessarily favor spaniels, she’s interested in every furry creature that she sees. So while she is racing for the TV, we race for the remote and quickly switch channels to protect the screen from dog slobber or worse.
Now Penelope is confused.
Where did Fluffy go?
It makes sense, doesn’t it? If Fluffy isn’t in the front, obviously she must be in the back.
And when Fluffy isn’t there either, Penelope jumps back up on the couch and stretches out, hoping that a Purina commercial will come on soon.
